The importance of this issue usually becomes apparent when Noise Radiation from engine exhaust systems or burner chimneys is considered. In the paper a Finite Element Method (FEM) simulation has been applied to investigate the effects of high temperature media on the sound propagation through open duct termination. This paper is an extension for the recent experimental work performed by paper authors on acoustical properties of duct terminations exhausting hot gas. Delay-Induced Synchronization on a Network of Euler’s Beams Indirectly Interconnected Via Piezoelectric Patches by Nana Nbendjo BR* in Evolutions in Mechanical Engineering_ Amplitude Death   Abstract In this paper, Amplitude Death (AD) phenomenon is reported in a network of Euler’s beams in- directly coupled via an electrical circuit consisting of piezoelectric patches. AD phenomenon appears in this system when global synchronization of all beams takes place. The occurrence of global synchronization, which was preceded by dynamical clustering, is dependent on the size of the network as well as on the load resistance of the electrical circuit which indirectly interacts with all the beams. The results further show that the AD state can be observed for relatively very weak coupling strength and large system-size. As the bolus containing meal traverses the intestinal segments it undergoes rheological transformation as a consequence of digestive processes such as alkaline buffering, micelle formation, absorption of nutrients and water [1]. As the chyme (mixture of meal and gastric juice) enters the stomach through the pylorus (a valve interconnecting the stomach and the small intestine), the duodenum (first segment of the small intestine) responds to the acidic content of the chyme by buffering them with alkaline secretion of pancreas. An Investigation into a Spring Based Ankle Joint Designed for Lower Limb Prosthesis by Sayem Hossain Bhuiyan* in Evolutions in Mechanical Engineering_  Ankle Joint Abstract A spring based Ankle Joint is designed to improve the performance of mechanical type prostheses. The torsional and compression springs with the help of some foot plate arrangement is used to enable the prosthesis in producing desired flexion and extension and also storing and returning energy by the ankle joint during the gait cycle. The motion analysis and Finite-Element Analysis (FEA) of ankle joint components are carried out to assess the feasibility of the design. The FEA results are then compared with the real data obtained from the literature for a similar subject. The pattern of motion analysis results has shown a great resemblance with the gait cycle of a healthy biological limb, and the design is identified to be safe with factory of safety of 1.9 from the FEA results.
