Influence of Abrasive Water Jet Turning Operating Parameters on Surface Roughness of ABS and PLA 3D Printed Parts Materials by Fuat Kartal* in Crimson Publishers Abstract In this study, PLA and ABS materials produced by 3D printing with 14mm diameter and 300mm length were processed by turning with abrasive water jet machining. The effect of processing parameters with abrasive water jet on the surface roughness was investigated. The processing parameters are nozzle feed rate (60-210mm/min), abrasive flow rate (150-225g/min), chuck turning speed and nozzle distance. Experimental studies have shown that the increase in nozzle feed rate (from 50 to 200mm/min), abrasive flow rate (from 150 to 225g/min) and nozzle distance (from 3 to 9mm) results in average surface roughness values increased by 26%, 35% and 19%, respectively. It was concluded that the increase in the rotation speed of the mirror (from 75RPM to 225RPM) resulted in a 17% decrease. https://crimsonpublishers.com/eme/pd...

Examination of Tensile Test Specimens Produced in Three-Dimensional Printer: Crimson Publishers

Image
Examination of Tensile Test Specimens Produced in Three-Dimensional Printer by Fuat Kartal* in Crimson Publishers: Applied mechanical engineering In this study, the effect of different parameters on tensile test specimens produced by joint manufacturing with open source code and equipment using PLA type filament was investigated experimentally. Tensile specimens were designed and manufactured according to ASTM IV type tensile test standards. The test design was based on the L9 orthogonal array of the Taguchi Method and experiments was designed according to this plan. According to the results, Parameters of layer thickness and filling scan range parameters were found to provide significant improvement in the tensile strength increase https://crimsonpublishers.com/eme/fulltext/EME.000521.php For More open access journals in Crimson Publishers please click on link: https://crimsonpublishers.com For More Articles on Applied mechanical engineering Please click o...

Usage of Process Models for Quality Management System: A Case Study of Energy Company¬_ Crimson Publishers

Usage of Process Models for Quality Management System: A Case Study of Energy Company by Kashif Mahmood*, Taivo Kangilaski and Eduard Shevtshenko in Evolutions in Mechanical Engineering Business Process Management is the most important part of nowadays management. It ties company employees to work together towards a common business goal as well as dismantle existing business connections if they do not work properly. Thus, it is important to understand the dynamics of processes in the context of employees and assessment of risk during the execution of processes. The current article describes the possible usage of process models in the sense of quality management based on performed case study. The aim of this paper is to describe how process modelling approach facilitates to manage elements of a Quality Management Systems (QMS) such as organizational structure and responsibilities, business processes, information management and control of documents. https://crimsonpublis...

A Review on Electromechanical Methods and Devices for Neural Rehabilitation_ Crimson Publishers

Image
A Review on Electromechanical Methods and Devices for Neural Rehabilitation by Nazita Taghavi, Greg R Luecke and Nicholas D Jeffery* in Evolutions in Mechanical Engineering The nervous system of most quadrupeds consists of two main systems: The Central Nervous System including brain and spinal cord and the Peripheral Nervous System which is a large nervous system running through the body, controlling all voluntary and automatic body movements [1,2]. Disease like peripheral neuropathy [3], damage in spinal cord [4] and severe stroke to head can cause numbness, weakness, trouble with grasping items, problems with walking and balancing or severe debilitating disabilities. Some of these diseases and symptoms can be treated by medicines, physical therapies and surgery ; however, in many cases, patients face permanent disabilities specially with those diseases related to brain and spinal cord injuries since these organs include a complex system of nerves and regeneration of those...

Crimson Publishers-Analysis and Optimization of Lower Control Arm

Image
Analysis and Optimization of Lower Control Arm by Kale AR in  Evolutions in Mechanical Engineering Control arm in automotive vehicle acts as a linkage between sprung and unsprung mass of vehicle. Lower control arm is subjected to various loads. Due to this type of loading, there are chances of bending of control arm. Hence failure of lower control arm occurs. Weight reduction of vehicle component is one of the main concerns. The aim of the paper is to analyze and optimize the lower arm using finite element analysis. The model of lower control arm is done in CAD software. Static analysis of lower control arm is carried out in analysis software. Topology optimization of lower arm is performed for weight reduction. After topology optimization static analysis of optimized lower control arm is carried out. Results obtained from analysis where studied to check whether the design is within the yield strength. Cost analysis of existing and optimized lower control arm has bee...
