 Deformation Mechanisms in a NiobiumAdded Zirconium Alloy via Load Relaxation Tests by Murty KL*, Webber KA and Charit I in Crimson Publishers Abstract:  Load relaxation tests have been performed on a recrystallized Nb-bearing Zr alloy sheet in the rolling direction at various temperatures. The strain rate - stress data thus obtained were used to identify the transitional deformation mechanisms in various modulus-compensated stress regimes. Crystallographic texture of the alloys that controls the extent of mechanical anisotropy was determined. Load relaxation tests are also performed in the direction at 45o to the transverse direction in order to characterize the deformation anisotropy. Experimental Investigation of Gamma Stirling Engine Coupling to Convert Thermal to Cooling Energy in Different Laboratory Conditions

  Abstract The main aim of this research is to experimentally investigate the two coupled identical ST500 gammatype Stirling engines and convert thermal energy to cooling energy. Using a new structure and two coupled Stirling engines at different temperatures and pressures and use of biomass fuel within the 4-8 bar average pressure range of the first engine hot source, the 1-4 bar average+ pressure range of the second engine cold source, and Stirling hot engine temperature range of 480-580 ºC, the effective cooling is obtained in the cold engine. In doing tests, attempts were made to reach lower than 9 percent error results in different parts of engine, including insulation, fluid leakage, belt loosing, and measurement devices. Internal Combustion Engine Modeling Framework in Simulink: Combustion Modeling

  Abstract An internal combustion engine modeling framework has been developed in the MATLAB/Simulink environment to allow engine component blocks to be connected in a physically representative manner to reduce the model build time. Each component block, derived from physical laws, interacts with other blocks according to block connection. In this series paper, detailed combustion modeling is presented among several engine subsystems. In the engine modeling framework, combustion is represented by a spherical flame propagating from the spark plug, and the burn rate is correlated to combustion chamber geometry, laminar flame speed, and turbulence. To accurately predict the burn rate, the quasi-dimensional model requires tuning. New Battery Management System and its Application

  Abstract In this paper, application of a Battery Management System (BMS) with Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is realized by using solar power. Proposed system is designed for four different 12V, 60Ah batteries used by general purpose as an uninterruptable power supply unit for electronics devices. Furthermore, in developed application, with respect to state of charge of each battery, either batteries are used as energy supply or batteries are charged by solar power. These wave propagations can be described with physical attributes, such as phase, wavelength, amplitude, and velocity. The velocity of an acoustic wave can be determined by two material properties of the propagation medium: the bulk modulus and the density. Corrosion decreases strand cross-section, causes material deterioration, induces concrete cracking, degrades bond strength and deteriorates the capacity of PC beams. As the high-stress level of prestressing strand, strand corrosion causes a brittle failure of PC beams without warnings. The potential dangers of corrosion in PC beams would be much more severe than that in reinforced concrete members.
