Editorial on Additive Manufacturing_Cimson Publishers

Editorial on Additive Manufacturing by Ananthapadmanaban Dattaguru* in Crimson Publishers Editorial: Additive Manufacturing is a buzz word in technology for the last few years. Most of the manufacturing was being done by both addition and removal of material like casting, welding, and machining. In recent times, mankind has realized that each bit of material saved is very crucial for the health of mother earth. Hence the thrust on additive manufacturing. Though the term additive manufacturing is new, some of the technologies like solid state welding are being used commercially for a few decades. The crucial difference is that CAD models are being generated after laborious research and the final product alone is manufactured layer by layer using additive manufacturing techniques. https://crimsonpublishers.com/eme/pdf/EME.000588.pdf For More open access journals in  Crimson Publishers please click on link:  https://crimsonpublishers.com

A Review on Leader-Follower Based Path Optimization in Vehicle Platooning_Crimson Publishers

Image
A Review on Leader-Follower Based Path Optimization in Vehicle Platooning by Jeya Mala D* and Pradeep Reynold A in Crimson Publishers Introduction: In self-driving cars, especially when the vehicles are travelling as a cluster in which the first vehicle acts as a leader and the other vehicles act as followers, there is a need for proper communication on the selection of path. This will help the vehicles to reach their destination without any intermittent communication hurdles that leads to accidents and traffic congestions. To achieve this, the vehicles on the road are formed as a platoon in which the first vehicle will send the communication to all the follower vehicles to line up behind the leader. This will help them to automatically form a string formation to stay close to each other on the highway without any traffic difficulties. This survey report gives an overview on how nature inspired techniques could be applied to achieve vehicle platoons to smoothly run on the hig...

Deformation Mechanisms in a NiobiumAdded Zirconium Alloy via Load Relaxation Tests_Crimson Publishers

Deformation Mechanisms in a NiobiumAdded Zirconium Alloy via Load Relaxation Tests by Murty KL*, Webber KA and Charit I in Crimson Publishers Abstract:  Load relaxation tests have been performed on a recrystallized Nb-bearing Zr alloy sheet in the rolling direction at various temperatures. The strain rate - stress data thus obtained were used to identify the transitional deformation mechanisms in various modulus-compensated stress regimes. Crystallographic texture of the alloys that controls the extent of mechanical anisotropy was determined. Load relaxation tests are also performed in the direction at 45o to the transverse direction in order to characterize the deformation anisotropy. The degree of anisotropy (in terms of the strain rate ratio) is found to increase with the increase in stress exponent values. https://crimsonpublishers.com/eme/pdf/EME.000586.pdf For More open access journals in  Crimson Publishers please click on link:  https://crimsonpublisher...

Recent Developments and Scope of Electrochemical Micro Machining for Inorganic Materials_Crimson Publishers

Recent Developments and Scope of Electrochemical Micro Machining for Inorganic Materials by Soundarrajan M1*, Thanigaivelan R1, Prakash R2, Senthilkumar R1, Deepa D1, Yuvaraj T1, Aravindkumar D3 and Duraiselvam S3 in Crimson Publishers Abstract:  Micromachining is the technique used to fabricate 2D or 3 D structures on metals in range of micron level. There are different techniques exist in industry for manufacturing the micro components. The MicroElectromechanical Systems (MEMS) are categorized such as photo lithography, wet and dry etching, Fusion bonding, LIGA and laser micromachining. On the other hand, due to technological growth and increased application of non-silicon-based materials in industry, Non-MEMS based techniques such as Electrochemical Machining (ECM), Electro Discharge Machining (EDM), injection moulding, stamping and extrusion employs effectively. This development in current manufacturing trend is generally recognized that micro manufacturing. The curr...

A Light-Weight Low-Speed Stirrer for Proper Mixing of Fertilizer and Water in a SmallScale Automated Irrigation System_Crimson Publishers

A Light-Weight Low-Speed Stirrer for Proper Mixing of Fertilizer and Water in a SmallScale Automated Irrigation System by Basunia MA* and Abdullah MYBH in  Evolutions in Mechanical Engineering Abstract: Proper mixing of fertilizer and water is a serious problem in a small-scale automated irrigated land observed during a visit to a farm in Kumpung Lumapas, Brunei. It is usually done manually and takes a lot of effort and time. An automatic low-speed and a lightweight stirring mechanism was designed, fabricated and installed to solve this problem using power from the same electric motor which are used to run the pump. The high speed of the rotating shaft from the existing pump was utilized and connected to a belt-pulley system to reduce its speed. The motor and pump unit were separated from direct coupling system and arranged in parallel with each other. Then, the shaft of the big pulley was linked to a speed reduction gearbox to further reduce the speed of the Polyvinyl C...
